Can Serrat Residency / El Bruc, Spain / 2022

I arrived to Can Serrat with the intention of foraging, and being a culinary professional, for edible goods but quickly found most fruits, flowers, and mushrooms to be decomposed from the unusual extreme hail storm. Unexpectedly the land revealed to me much more in way of material: toxic berries for pigment, inedible mushrooms (and their hitch-hiking worms) as maps and decrepit stone huts for safe shelter. From this chaos grew a body of work visual and performance based, focused on accepting disorder and how to move forward in a certainly uncertain future.
